Sunday lazy link that only current parents of toddlers will understand

As the parent of a daughter almost exactly the same age as the toddler mentioned in the link below, this article is definitely relevant to my interests.  Disclaimer:  Only current parents of toddlers will find this funny.  No, grandparents don't count; they get to have no rules and thus see only the good stuff.:)

I also must say that our daughter's extreme adorableness more than balances out her, shall we say, strong personality. I am also pleased that her stubbornness may foreshadow a budding lawyer.

Is he just 2 or...?  Via Salon.

By the way, the picture is not her, but you get the idea.

I don't have kids but I have a niece and nephew six months apart, and while they both pulled all the usual toddler tricks, their personalities were clearly distinct by that age. How they tested boundaries and how they became upset was different. How long it took them to give up and how they responded to the same disciplinary attempts was different. That writer might have reason for concern.

What I always find interesting is how parents can resent their kids personalities; especially those traits that to the rest of us remind us of them.

Patricia,

I have to disagree a bit. With the possible exception of that kids' kick to the groin, this is pretty standard toddler behavior. I would only be concerned if the kid truly didn't have a sense that the violent behavior was unacceptable by the age of 4 or so.

I think that many toddler parents you see who seem resentful may just be exhausted.:) Offer to babysit for them and you'll see...

It was funny, even though we ran out of toddlers about fifteen or sixteen years ago.

We had a boy who became known as "the Hoser" (which was popular Canadian speak at the time) because of his marked propensity to piss heartily and in many directions at the moment the diaper came off for a change.
